Cambelt
Service
Replace it before it breaks. If you are unsure what the manufacturer requirements are for your car Contact Us and we can let you know.
We specialise in cam belt replacements and use a reputable supplier of quality European manufactured components.
We can do all cam belt replacements on all vehicles, specialising in European vehicles, including Alfa Romeo, VW, Audi, BMW, Renault, Peugeot, Citroen, Volvo, and SAAB.
We have the special tools and the know-how required to do the job properly.
Please call for a competitive price – please be aware when comparing quotes, lower prices can indicate that not all necessary rotating parts and oil seals are being replaced. Any failure of these rotating parts and oil seals may result in cam belt failure causing major engine damage. Failure of parts not replaced will have no warranty, and may void the warranty of any new parts fitted.
Note:
Some cars may also have a balance shaft belt as well as the cam belt / timing belt. Both need to be replaced to protect you from a potentially expensive repair bill.
Top Tip
When buying a second hand vehicle, always find out if the vehicle has a cam belt and when it is due for replacement. If it has already been replaced, confirm date and mileage at time of replacement and what parts where replaced – cam belt, idlers, tensioners, pulleys, water pump.
Transmission & Gearbox
Service
Automatic Transmission
Servicing an automatic is important preventative maintenance and this includes FILLED FOR LIFE or SEALED UNITS as almost all of these can benefit from regular servicing.
Servicing usually takes an hour or two – but we do have loan cars available by appointment.
Our standard transmission service can include:
- Drain transmission fluid
- Remove and clean oil pan
- Inspect fluid for metal or clutch lining material
- Replace filter (Where fitted)
- Refit the pan with new gasket
- Refill with correct grade of transmission fluid
- Check for leaks in hoses and seals
- Check over vehicle, fluids etc.
- Road test and report on operation of transmission
Manual Gearbox
The gearbox generates a lot of friction and heat -gearbox fluid lubricates the gears, shafts and bearings where metal slides over metal. It helps transmit heat away from the working surfaces. However, as time goes by, the gearbox fluid tends to become dirty, losing its ability to do its job effectively. The dirtier it gets, the worse the fluid performs, causing greater heat and friction. That’s why you need to service your gearbox regularly – every 20,000 to 30,000km and some vehicles will ideally require more frequent attention.
If you do feel that your manual transmission is not performing as it should, we can check the operation of it for you.
Our manual gearbox service can include:
- Drain gearbox fluid
- Inspect the fluid for evidence of sludge
- Fill the gearbox to the recommended level with new fluid of the correct type
- Inspect fit of plug and drain plug
- Check for leaks and wear on seals
- Check shift lever bushes
- Check clutch operation
- Check over vehicle, fluids etc.
- Test to check working of serviced gearbox
Tyre fitting
& wheel balancing
& wheel balancing
If your car has a case of the shakes, it is highly likely that at least one of your wheels need balancing. It is not only difficult to drive with unbalanced wheels, but this condition can create problems in steering and suspension components and uneven tyre wear. Ensuring your wheels are balanced can increase the life of your steering and suspension systems…
Your wheels might need to be balanced if you have any of the following:
- Your car shakes at certain speeds
- You have recently had new tyres fitted
- You have had a tyre removed from its rim
- You have noticed irregular tyre wear
- You have unusual vibrations in your steering wheel
